Description
Chintz is a printed cotton fabric originating from India, which was brought to Europe by the Portuguese in the 15th century. It is characterized by the use of very colorful stereotypical patterns of Indo-European influence that are illustrated with wide stripes of varied decoration where they appear. Birds, exotic birds, animals, flowers, fruits, cornucopias, amphorae, nests and tropical fruits.
